This bar represents a long awaited upgrade to the Peter Lynn safety system. The biggest problem I used to have on the old center line safety was everytime I did a 360/invert the safety would wrap itself around the middle line making the safety system pretty much unusable in some situations - I once had to dump my entire kite after getting dragged 1 mile through a field after a freak gust of 50mph wind hit the kite and the safety got caught - I managed to rip the bar from my harness just before hitting a barbed wire fence and watched my kite float into a nearby tree!
So, now the safety comes from the side lines which works much better - i've not had any tangles and it even has a nice little spinning suicide attachment around the chicken loop which is nice. It also makes it much better for going unhooked.
I love Peter Lynn as soon as it gets windy enough to use them and this bar is exactly what i needed to allow me to not worry getting tangled up and hoping it will let me go!
